Mildred Inez Hurst, 87 of Old Hickory entered her eternal home on Friday, July 2, 2021 at NHC Hendersonville. Mrs. Hurst was born on November 16, 1933 in Pulaski, TN the daughter of the James and Vora Chamblee.
Mildred will be remembered as a "special lady" because of her love for people and her warm personality. She never met a stranger. "Inez", as she was called by her family especially loved her children and looked forward to spending time with them. She loved her siblings and all the fun times they would have when they got together. She enjoyed cutting-up whenever possible.
Mildred loved her Church family. She enjoyed cooking so it wasn't a surprise when she would cook for the Wednesday night suppers at Church. Her signature dessert was her banana pudding.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Randall, Rick (Sandy), Roger (Sharon) Brown, daughters Carolyn (Joe) Sharpe and Janice (Glen) Pancake, sisters, Lindall (Tom) Lewis and Jody (Roy) Kolbe, brother Philip Chamblee along with 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her son Ronald Brown her brothers, Bill and James Chamblee, her sisters Loretta Maddox and Ruth Thompson. and her Special Friend, Grady Keith, Sr.
The family wishes to thank Bobbie Biggerstaff for her love and care of Mom and Grady Keith's family, Earl, Lynn and Grady Jr. for looking after Mom after Grady passed away.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Dickerson Road Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Taft officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until service time Thursday at Dickerson Road Baptist Church, Burial will follow Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Dickerson Road Baptist Church in Mrs. Hurst's honor.
