Elizabeth Curtis Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Loveall Curtis, 86 returned to her heavenly home on Monday, October 16, 2023 after a valiant battle with a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Elizabeth was born to the late Josep Monroe Loveall, Sr. and Eunice McCulley Loveall, in Gallatin, TN on August 11, 1937. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age.

Elizabeth was blessed with a large and loving family. She married the love of her life and best friend, Samuel “Houston” Curtis, Jr.  on November 19, 1975. Elizabeth raised her four children with patience, discipline and humility. In addition to her already large family, Elizabeth and Houston welcomed 474 foster children into their home and showered them with the love and guidance they so desperately needed. She also loved to cook and prepare big dinners. It was always a holiday at the Curtis home.

Elizabeth was an educator at heart. She was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones who are comforted by the fact that she is at peace with her Heavenly Father.

Elizabeth was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 47 years, Samuel "Houston" Curtis, Jr, her children Bobby Dwayne Link, Meredith Kay Link and Teresa Ann Curtis Schuessler (Jon), her grandchildren, Brianna Kay Link, Sophia Nicole Link, Jessica Lynn Link Cato (Matt), Melanie Nicole Link, Holly Elizabeth Thomerson Newland, Shelby Ray Newland, Heidi Kay Newland, Jamie Leigh Thomerson Gregory (Cody), Sabrina Ann Schuessler, Joseph William Schuessler, Jacob Bryan Schuessler, great-grandchildren, Jovi Lynne Link, Hartley Mae Gregory and  her siblings, Rosia Loveall Woods, Nancy Loveall Gregory and John David Loveall.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Monroe Loveall, Sr. and Eunice McCulley Loveall, her son, Kelly Joe Link, her great-grandson, Holton Layne Gregory, her sisters, Margaret Loveall Starks, Helen Loveall Sheppard her brothers, JB Loveall, Harvey Loveall, Billy Loveall, Joseph Monroe "Buddy" Loveall, Jr. and Robert Loveall.
