Doris Raye Roberts

May 24, 1936 ~ December 30, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Mrs. Doris Raye Roberts Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Restlawn Memory Gardens for Doris Raye Roberts who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Signature Healthcare Rehab and Wellness Center in Portland, Tennessee. Doris was born on May 24, 1936 in Odessa, Texas to Willie Albert Anderson and Thelma Mae Anderson along 2 sisters and 1 brother. She also resided in Arizona, Oregon and Washington, but spent most of her life in Bakersfield California and Portland, Tennessee. Doris was a doting daughter who cared for her parents and a loving wife to Al. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved being a homemaker but also worked in an office. She was known by everyone for her exceptional kindness and brilliance. Her loving heart was evident not only to her family and friends but to anyone she met. She always made everyone feel loved. It was important to Doris that her family knew how proud she was of them and they made sure she knew what she meant to them. When it came to her grandchildren, she was an adored “Nanny”. Doris enjoyed amusing jokes, stories and making quilts. Doris fought extremely hard and so unselfishly to stay with us as long as she possibly could, however she could not stay. We will forever cherish the time we had with her and she will forever be in our hearts till the end of time. Doris will be deeply missed and her memory will be cherished by her husband, Albert Leroy Roberts, her sons, Ronald Steven Harbin (Kathy) and Randall Alan Roberts (Karrie); and her daughter Teri Lynn Roberts Sainz (Danny). She has also left many memories that will be treasured by her Grandchildren; Ronald Harbin, Jr., Brian Harbin, Angela Graff, Scott Petersen, Sara Pidwell, Charles Clay Harbin, Nicholas Roberts, Christopher Roberts and many loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles Clay Anderson and two sisters, Nancy Anderson McGowan Garrett and Virginia Mae Anderson. Her love and light will never dim from our hearts.
